THX Announces New THX Spatial Audio+ Architecture for Immersive Audio in Laptops, Soundbars, and Headphones

THX has announced the expansion of its THX Spatial Audio technology, introducing a feature-rich new immersive audio architecture for enjoyment of gaming, movies, and music. The technology introduces support for 7.1.4 multichannel content, head tracking, and content-based audio optimization while listening on laptops and soundbars with speaker arrays, or binaural reproduction on headphones and earbuds.

Responding to the specific demands of mixing and mastering engineers working with immersive audio and specifically producing Dolby Atmos tracks for Apple Music, British company Audiomovers now announced a new Binaural Renderer plugin. The software solution is supposedly able to translate how immersive audio sessions will sound on headphones, streaming from Apple Music, while still working in any DAW.
