Genelec Improves on a Classic with 7050C Subwoofer

Genelec has once again redefined their own benchmarks for compact subwoofer performance by unveiling the 7050C, which delivers an extended low frequency response with higher SPL and lower distortion than its 7050B predecessor, along with the added benefits of a professional bass management system. The unit’s LSE spiral enclosure has been further refined to deliver unconventionally clean audio output even at peak levels, with users also benefitting from a remarkable 3 dB increase in SPL capability and a universal switched-mode power supply.

Among the product introductions at Prolight+Sound 2016, Frankfurt, Germany, the Finish monitoring specialists managed to grab the headlines with the largest number of products launched simultaneously. Genelec not only expanded its range of new generation Smart Active Monitoring (SAM) systems with five additions to the series, but also celebrated 10 years of the technology.

With the KH 805, Neumann.Berlin is adding a new active subwoofer to its string of acclaimed studio monitoring products. Based on the excellent acoustical performance of the KH 810 subwoofer, the KH 805 is the optimal choice for stereo set-ups in combination with the KH 120 or KH 310 monitors and is a more affordable solution for recording, broadcasting, and post-production studios.

As Richard Schram, the president and founder of Parasound explains, “several years ago we challenged ourselves to create a no-compromise integrated amp that would match the performance of our Halo separates in every respect. We call it the Halo Integrated Amplifier.” Parasound’s new 2.1-channel integrated amplifier/DAC with 160-watts per channel of John Curl designed amplifier topology is now shipping.

The most recent model to reach the market, the G Five, completes the series.
