Andover Announces SpeakEasy 4 Powered Speakers

Andover Audio launched the SpeakEasy 4, an easy-to-set-up, powered stereo speaker system with built-in phono preamp ($399/pair). For a company that launched its original business focused on the vinyl revival, it makes sense to also offer the company’s first separate speaker model that connects to a turntable, aside from also offering a host of digital and analog inputs, including HDMI ARC to connect to a TV and wireless Bluetooth.

Andover Audio announced the launch of its new SoundBites Series of audio components with the SpinStage phono preamp (MSRP $249). Making an elegant style statement in a bead-blasted, anodized aluminum chassis, the SpinStage has been painstakingly engineered to deliver ultra-low noise to support virtually any moving-magnet (MM) or moving-coil (MC) cartridge. For the MA-based audio manufacturer this is a great addition any home audio system that needs to improve on an existing preamp’s internal circuitry.

Building on the success of its popular SpinBase powered speaker system designed to support a turntable, Andover Audio announces the updated SpinBase MAX (MSRP: $499). Like the original SpinBase, the new MAX improves the speaker performance and styling for vinyl enthusiasts who seek a compact yet high-quality speaker system to complete their turntable setup, without the complexity and space demands of separate speakers.

Building on its “Spin” product system, in response to customer feedback, Andover Audio introduced a 100-watt subwoofer designed to pair with the original SpinBase Turntable Speaker System. The Andover SpinSub fits inside the SpinStand and extends the low-end bass range of the full system, making the pairing a compact, full-range listening solution. The new Andover SpinSub can also be placed on the floor solo, just like other subwoofers.

Andover Audio announced the latest addition to its Spin Collection of products and accessories for vinyl fans. SpinStand ($169) provides a lightweight yet robust storage solution for audio components and up to 150 vinyl records. SpinStand is compatible with all common turntable models, but it’s particularly well-suited to Andover’s own SpinDeck turntable, SpinBase powered speaker system, or even the company’s flagship Model-One Turntable Music System.

Massachusetts-based Andover Audio continues to focus on expanding its portfolio of self-branded products. Following the introduction of the Model One Record Player, an integrated record player, speaker and entertainment system; the Spinbase, a compact, speaker solution for under-turntable placement; and the launch of the PM-50 planar magnetic headphones, the company now announces the Spindeck, an affordable belt-driven turntable, custom designed by Pro-Ject for Andover.

The high-end headphone market continues to grow as the generic headphone product category expands globally. With wireless now sending mainstream consumers in completely new directions for personal audio, there is still room for brands to grab a share of the market in the wired, premium segment. The new PM-50 Planar Magnetic headphones are a way for Andover Audio to enter the space, proposing a relatively affordable ($500) design that still manages to surprise with walnut housings and replaceable ear-cushions.
