LG Launches Upgraded webOS Hub 3.0 with Auracast Support for Third-Party Brands

LG Electronics (LG) announced the launch of webOS Hub 3.0, the latest version of its acclaimed TV platform for third-party brands. The new release incorporates cutting-edge AI technologies and innovative features, setting a new standard in the TV platform market and an even stronger alternative to Android-based solutions. Initially available for UHD TVs with 60Hz displays, webOS Hub 3.0 will extend support to 120Hz UHD TVs with mini-LED technology starting in July – broadening its appeal to an even wider consumer base.

Honor introduced the Honor Earbuds Open – a unique open-ear design that rests directly on the ear and is able to cancel the outside world thanks to advanced AI audio processing capabilities. In fact, Honor calls this design the “industry's first open-ear 3-mic hybrid active noise cancellation system.” And the Honor Earbuds Open not only block external noise, but allow users to make calls privately thanks to its reverse acoustic system that reduces audio leakage. The user’s voice is perfectly captured even in noisy environments with a combination of a voice accelerometer, 3-mic array, and bone conduction sensor technology.

EssilorLuxottica just expanded its presence in the hearing space with the acquisition of an AI-driven tech startup in France and its talented team. The company, Pulse Audition, is just one of hundred of startups currently pursuing the concept of hearing glasses, in this case adding an edge with unique AI-based speech enhancement and noise reduction processing technologies embedded in the frames. The technology promises to accelerate the Nuance Hearing Glasses project.

Airoha Technology announced the launch of a new flagship wireless audio chip with integrated AI processing. The AB1595 chip integrates essential functions that currently require multiple chips into one single system-on-chip (SoC). The announcement follows a recent press conference where the MediaTek subsidiary confirmed its intention to lead the market as a Bluetooth audio supplier and to outgrow the industry with AI-powered solutions in 2025.
