Apogee New Ensemble: A Powerful 30x34 Thunderbolt 2 Audio Interface

Apogee Electronics is using the 137th AES Convention in Los Angeles - close to its headquarters in Santa Monica, California - to introduce the new Ensemble recording interface. The sucessor of the original Apogee Ensemble, released in 2007, is now a powerful 30x34 Thunderbolt 2 audio interface which Apogee says, at only 1.1ms, is the lowest round-trip latency performance available in any all-in-one audio interface.

The 137th Audio Engineering Society Convention at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles will feature an opening keynote address from acclaimed engineer, musician, and record producer, Alan Parsons. On Friday, the convention will feature a keynote address by Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy.

This year’s AES Product Design Track at the 137th Audio Engineering Society Convention in Los Angeles, combines two themes to bring a significant learning opportunity to audio engineering professionals; Theme 1 events are focused on audio design topics, while Theme 2 brings to AES the subject of product development in the age of global engineering and sourcing.

Powersoft will present working methodologies and loudspeaker application scenarios on its patented M-Force linear motor technology at the 137th AES Convention in Los Angeles, on Friday, October 10th. The presentation will address how moving magnet linear motor technology in subwoofers can deliver greater conversion efficiency and sound quality in the lower frequencies.

Jason Aiken is, as always, building speakers.  He is also putting together a system for his daughter that includes a Bluetooth receiver for her iPhone 5s. He read that the Bluetooth sound quality has improved and was excited to hear it.

The 137th AES Convention in Los Angeles, CA, (October 9–12, 2014) will certainly be one of AES’s most complete and relevant technical programs.
