COMSOL Conference 2024, Boston: Acoustics Up Front

After a five-year gap for in-person conferences from COMSOL, the 2024 event in Boston, MA - part of a planned series now expanding to Europe (Florence, Italy) and Asia (Shanghai, China) - was a very successful return. audioXpress was invited to attend, as more and more audio developers and manufacturers use COMSOL's Acoustics Module, Structural Mechanics Module, and the AC/DC Module, among others integrated in the leading Multiphysics modeling and simulation software.

The AES Audio Product Education Institute (APEI) is presenting a new online event on Wednesday, March 2, exploring the latest updates to the Acoustics Module in COMSOL Multiphysics 6.0 and its possibilities for loudspeaker development. The session, presented by simulation expert Mads Jensen from COMSOL, will detail and explain the significant improvements introduced in the latest version, specifically focusing on transducers and all the great new features for speakers in general.

COMSOL announced the latest release of the COMSOL Multiphysics and COMSOL Server simulation software. Version 5.3 provides notable performance improvements and powerful app design and deployment capabilities with new modeling and development tools, solvers, and user-driven features. Those using the Acoustics Module will benefit from new functionality that greatly improves time-domain simulations of acoustics phenomena and facilitates solving large acoustics-based models.
