Peerless by Tymphany Launches STW-350 15” Hi-Fidelity Subwoofer

Peerless by Tymphany announced that its STW-350F188PR01-04, a 15” subwoofer built for high-performance HiFi applications, previously previewed at trade-shows, is now available for distribution as part of the brand's catalog. The new STW-350, features an 8” voice coil, triple suspension, and a dual-spider design, providing superior low-frequency performance in a smaller-than-traditional enclosure.

Teenage Engineering, Raven and Baidu's Collaboration on New Smart Speaker Concepts

Baidu, a company known as China's search engine is investing heavily in its own voice engine, artificial intelligence (AI), and even hardware technologies, following Google's footsteps. Earlier this year, Baidu acquired Raven, a Beijing-based smart home startup, and the first results of that investment have now been revealed with two voice-activated speakers that run on the company's own AI platform. The design was the result of a cooperation with a Swedish start-up, Teenage Engineering.

Peerless by Tymphany Launches New SDF Woofer Series and Starts Shipping SDF-250 10” Model

The newest product line from Peerless by Tymphany is the SDF series of woofers, with sizes ranging from 10-15”, built for more bass in smaller-than-traditional enclosures. Designed with a 3” voice coil and a robust ferrite magnet system which enables higher power-handling, enhanced low-end response, and more linearity, the company is now shipping the SDF-250 10” Woofer, built for high-performance, high-excursion consumer and hifi applications.

Test Bench: Tymphany GBS-135F25AL02-04 5.25-Inch Woofer

The driver I received for testing in this edition of Test Bench came from Tymphany, and is a patent-pending thin profile 5.25” aluminum cone mid-woofer from the company’s GBS line of thin profile woofers and midranges. Features for the GBS-135F25AL02-04 include a four-spoke stamped steel frame with a mere 27.4 mm (1.08”) total depth. Tymphany, a premier audio ODM, announced the acquisition of an engineering and manufacturing operation in the Czech Republic from Bang & Olufsen. According to the company, this acquisition will accelerate Tymphany’s growth as an ODM of premium consumer and professional audio systems and acoustic solutions. Tymphany’s global footprint will expand to four manufacturing locations and five audio product engineering centers.
