Peerless and Dirac Announce Strategic Partnership for Room Correction Integration

Peerless, a Tymphany subsidiary, and Dirac, the Swedish digital audio processing specialists, announced a strategic partnership to improve sound reproduction across the home and professional audio markets. The partnership integrates Dirac’s Dirac Live solution into Peerless’ Flow DSP audio development platform to enable manufacturers of home audio and professional audio systems to more seamlessly and efficiently integrate premium room correction into their product portfolio.

To support the growing number of projects that Tymphany is involved with, encompassing transducers, amplification, DSP, and fully integrated systems for pro audio, consumer or automotive, the company created its own software platform for prototyping, tuning and deployment. Tymphany Peerless Flow DSP is a new software development platform with a library of algorithms and a user-friendly interface that eliminates the need for coding, thus reducing time to market.

Peerless Audio, the component business of Tymphany producing transducers since 1926, has announced the launch of its new HVS speaker series, intended to promote sustainable design practices that remain competitively priced. For the new HVS drivers Peerless significantly reduced the use of adhesives, replaced paper cones to prevent wastewater pollution, and minimized the use of rare earth materials, whilst maximizing meaningful acoustic performance, all while achieving comparable performance with improved audio consistency.

This review looks at a patent awarded in October 2016 to George Bullimore, on behalf of Tymphany. Considering the number of patents on shallow drivers, and the fact that the inventor also previously developed transducers for Harman International and holds other key patents, this is no doubt an interesting document to analyze in depth. Tymphany, a premier audio ODM, announced the acquisition of an engineering and manufacturing operation in the Czech Republic from Bang & Olufsen. According to the company, this acquisition will accelerate Tymphany’s growth as an ODM of premium consumer and professional audio systems and acoustic solutions. Tymphany’s global footprint will expand to four manufacturing locations and five audio product engineering centers.

The Tymphany SLS-85S25CP-04-04 mini-woofer is extensively used in TV soundbars, pedestal soundbars (soundbars that contain down firing subwoofers that double as a TV stand), docking stations/Bluetooth powered speakers, and desktop speakers (e.g., the Sonos products, Jambox, and many others). For two-way applications in these categories, this LS-85S25CP-04-04 is a good example of what works.
