Zoom Unveils Ultra-Compact 32-bit F3 Field Recorder

Zoom announced the new F3 Field Recorder, the most compact professional 2-channel / 2-track audio recorder from the Japanese company. With 32-bit float recording up to 192kHz, and two high-quality microphone preamps, the F3 was designed to effortlessly capture the most dynamic field sounds, from the quietest raindrops to the loudest explosions. Its small footprint allows it to be placed anywhere, while its built-in display shows an exact representation of the Wav audio file being recorded.

Apogee announced the release of MetaRecorder Version 2.0, the first two-channel 24-bit/96kHz audio recording app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch to offer intuitive multi-take recording, tagging and file organization for any field recording scenario. Version 2.0 adds support for the new UltraSync BLUE module by Timecode Systems with an in-app purchase along with updated compatibility with new Apogee products like Jam+ and MiC+.

Timecode Systems, a British manufacturer of wireless sync technology, introduced UltraSync BLUE, the first solution to use the company's new patented timecode sync and control protocol to transmit timecode to a recording device over Bluetooth with sub-frame accuracy. UltraSync BLUE uses Bluetooth pairing to connect to a device. This enables timecode to be transmitted wirelessly from UltraSync BLUE directly into the media file of a connected device.

The perfect accessory for Sound Devices’ 6-Series of Mixers/Recorders used in cart-based and fast-paced productions, the new CL-12 Linear Fader Controller features 12x 100-mm linear faders, sunlight-viewable LED metering, and numerous dedicated buttons. Available in two different models, it was one of the audio highlights at IBC 2015.

British company Timecode Systems introduced its new :wave device at the 2015 NAB Show. :wave is an audio-focused, highly accurate timecode and genlock generator with integrated RF transceiver and Wi-Fi. The new device also features hardware support for communication with Sound Devices audio mixers and recorders.
