Test Bench: The D8404-552000 Ellipticor Cloth Diaphragm Dome Midrange from Scan-Speak

This characterization is the sixth Scan-Speak Ellipticor driver to appear in Test Bench. The Scan-Speak D8404 is a large dome midrange with a large diaphragm area and respective voice coil diameter. For a motor system, Scan-Speak basically scaled up its currently successful AirCirc tweeter motor with 12 neodymium slugs, with a titanium voice coil former, all part of the patented Symmetrical Drive SD-2 motor format. Pylon Audio Loudspeakers Earn WiSA HT Interoperability Certification

The Wireless Speaker and Audio Association (WiSA) announced that another European manufacturer and Association member, Pylon Audio, has earned the WiSA HT Interoperability Certification for its Jasper line of high-end home audio loudspeakers. The Polish company is going to offer WiSA-enabled active models of its Jasper line, which includes the Jasper 25 mkII, Jasper Monitor 18 and Jasper 23. All will be available for purchase in select countries beginning March 6.

With the design and concept becoming extremely popular in the high-end two-channel market, the elliptical-shaped series of Scan-Speak drivers continues to expand.
