LOUD Audio Confirms the Sale of Iconic EAW Business to RCF

The news was out for a while now, but now it's official. Loud Audio, the parent company of the Mackie brand, has concluded the sale of Eastern Acoustic Works to RCF Group with its headquarters in Reggio Emilia, Italy. LOUD's management has been gradually pulling apart the businesses it acquired in 2017. Now, it was EAW's time. With this acquisition, RCF gains a stronger foothold in the North-American market, while also gaining access to one of the strongest sound reinforcement technology portfolios in the industry.

Following their successful launch in 2015, RCF’s M 08 and M 18 digital mixers will now enjoy enhanced functionality thanks to the latest firmware update. At the same time RCF has hinted that the wireless-controlled digital mixer series will shortly extend, with a larger-format M 24, 24-input chassis, for larger production duties.

In this Test Bench, Vance Dickason characterizes for the first time a transducer from RCF. In this case, a combination of the ND950 1.4 neodymium compression driver along with the HF950 injection-molded composite horn specifically designed to work with the ND950. RCF was in great shape at the 2015 Prolight+Sound show. Apart from strengthening its sound reinforcement catalogue with new large format arrays and compact portable systems, the company made an entry on the headphone market with the new Iconica series and made the official launch of its new M08 and M18 digital mixers.

dB Technologies announced the new high performance TH “theater” series stage monitors, starting with the DVX-DM12 TH and DVX-DM15 TH active two-way models. Featuring either 12” or 15” neodymium woofers with 4” voice coil coupled with 1.4” exit HF neo compression driver with 2.5” voice coil, the cabinets have rotatable HF drivers for left or right configuration.
