Sphere Las Vegas Equipped with Powersoft Audio Amplifiers and Haptic Seating

Powersoft supplied 167,000 audio channels of its energy-efficient amplification for Sphere Immersive Sound, the most advanced concert audio system on the planet, part of the the $2.3 billion venture inaugurated September 29. In addition to providing audio amplifiers for the resident Holoplot sound system, Powersoft equipped Sphere's groundbreaking venue with 10,000 haptic seats using its Mover infrasound shakers with patented moving-magnet technology.

Lavoce Italiana is attending ISE 2022 and announced the official launch of its new SAN184.50iP and SAN216.00iP high motor strength neodymium subwoofers, designed to partner with Powersoft's IpalMod amplifier and software platform (8500W @ 1ohm). Just one of many new products that the dynamic Italian transducer company is presenting as it returns to in-person pro audio trade shows. Lavoce has a heritage of 35 years designing and manufacturing professional loudspeaker components and is now extending its portfolio with new IpalMod compatible subwoofers.

Eighteen Sound sent us an unusual driver for this Test Bench, because it is specifically intended for use with the new generation of Class-D digital amplifiers that can drive extremely low impedance loads. While Eighteen Sound has several models in this configuration, this month we are testing the 18” model, the 18iD, developed in accordance with Powersoft Audio’s IPAL standards.
