Crest Audio Redefines Mixing with the Tactus Digital Mixing System

Crest Audio and Peavey Commercial Audio promoted at InfoComm 2014 its new Tactus Digital Mixing System, previously announced in 2013. Built in partnership with Waves, the new digital mixing platform combines high quality audio and custom channel configuration with the new Waves eMotion touch-screen mixer.

Thanks to Peavey’s Architectural Acoustics Elements weatherproof loudspeakers, gone are the days of hanging so-called enclosures outside only to replace the speaker in a year or two. The new Element series loudspeakers were one of the many highlights from Peavey at the InfoComm 2014 in Las Vegas.

In this Q&A, Charlie Hughes credits his success to knowledge, contacts, friendships, and his wife. He earned a physics degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology in1988. After graduation he worked for Peavey Electronics in Meridian, MS as a loudspeaker design engineer where he remained for 14 years. In late 2004, he started his own company, Excelsior Audio, located near Charlotte, NC. Excelsior Audio primarily provides consultation and design services to loudspeaker manufacturers.
