CE Distribution Becomes Exclusive Worldwide Distributor of SoZo Capacitors

CE Distribution announced an exclusive worldwide distribution agreement for the high-quality, sought after SoZo Capacitors. Winners in 31st technical and creative achievement categories were announced at the 31st Annual NAMM TEC Awards. The award ceremony was held on Saturday, January 23 during the NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA. As always, the important thing is to be nominated, since the TEC Award categories combine products which are very hard to compare and, most of the time, the winners reflect the popularity of the brand.

With the KH 805, Neumann.Berlin is adding a new active subwoofer to its string of acclaimed studio monitoring products. Based on the excellent acoustical performance of the KH 810 subwoofer, the KH 805 is the optimal choice for stereo set-ups in combination with the KH 120 or KH 310 monitors and is a more affordable solution for recording, broadcasting, and post-production studios.

At the end of October, the AES hosted its first AES67 interoperability “PlugFest” at the IRT in Munich. 15 people from 10 different companies gathered for 4 days, testing 15 different AES67 implementations for basic interoperability. The result was very promising, as all the implementations were able to interoperate with each other.

Neumann expanded its successful KH line of studio monitors with its first midfield model: the KH 420. This active 3-way system (10”+3”+1”) is ideal for larger 5.1 and 7.1 configurations and listening distances of up to 11 meters. With a corner frequency of 26 Hz, the KH 420 midfield monitor sets new standards in its class for low frequency performance. It also launched the KH 310D with extra digital inputs and delay features.

During the 137th Audio Engineering Society Convention in Los Angeles, Neumann made a very special presentation of a new U47 fet Collectors Edition microphone to esteemed recording engineer and producer Bruce Swedien, who counts the recording and mixing of Michael Jackson’s Thriller album among the highlights of his lifetime of career accomplishments. Swedien was presented with serial number 82 of the U47 fet Collectors Edition, in honor of the year that the Thriller album was released to the public.

The Neumann U47 fet is back! During the 137th AES convention in Los Angeles, Neumann announced the reissue of the legendary condenser microphone with cardioid characteristic as a “Collectors Edition U 47 fet”. The production of the reissues follow the original documents and schematics allowing for a wide dynamic range based on fet 80 circuit technology.
