The NAMM Foundation Appoints New Executive Director Julia Rubio

NAMM (The National Association of Music Merchants), the largest global not-for-profit music trade organization, has announced Julia Rubio as the new NAMM Foundation executive director to help fulfill its mission of strengthening the music products industry and promoting the pleasures and benefits of making music. Julia Rubio will report directly to NAMM President and CEO, and NAMM Foundation President, John Mlynczak.

During the Summer NAMM show in Nashville, pro audio professionals and leading industry brands gathered to recognize and celebrate the announcement of the 34th annual NAMM TEC Award nominees at a special pro audio reception held in the Music City Center. Voting is now open, and winners will be announced during the annual awards ceremony, to honor best in pro audio products at the 2019 NAMM Show, January 26, 2019, at the Anaheim Hilton Pacific Ballroom. The 2018 NAMM Show, the global crossroads of the music products, pro audio and sound, and event technology industries, will offer exhibitors and attendees the largest expanded campus in the show’s history when the doors open January 25-28, 2018 in Anaheim, California. The 2017 edition welcomed 7,000 brands and a record 1,779 exhibiting companies. The opening of the ACC North Hall, promises to make the NAMM Show 2018 even larger, and an enhanced show experience for all.

Winners in 31st technical and creative achievement categories were announced at the 31st Annual NAMM TEC Awards. The award ceremony was held on Saturday, January 23 during the NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA. As always, the important thing is to be nominated, since the TEC Award categories combine products which are very hard to compare and, most of the time, the winners reflect the popularity of the brand.

The NAMM Foundation will once again promote the 31st annual NAMM Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards and the NAMM TECnology Hall of Fame on January 23 at the 2016 NAMM Show. The events honor the best in audio and sound production as well as the most impactful audio technology products from the last 75 years. Record producer and music industry executive Don Was will receive the 2016 Les Paul Award.
