Meyer Sound has announced the appointment of Silicon Valley veteran executive Marc Chutczer to the newly created position of Vice President of Digital Program Management. Under Chutczer’s guidance and coordination, Meyer Sound will pursue a wide range of new digital technology initiatives as well further development of current digital programs, including Constellation, spatial sound initiatives, Bluehorn System, M-Noise, MAPP, SIM, and AVB networking.

Thanks to its unprecedented partnership with Denmark’s Roskilde Festival, Meyer Sound realized a rare opportunity to make precision measurements on the effect of variable atmospheric conditions on concert sound reinforcement. Working under the direction of Meyer Sound Senior Scientist Roger Schwenke, a technical team installed multiple weather sensors and measurement microphones during last summer’s event to measure the effects of atmospheric conditions on audio system response at varying distances above ground level.

Eight Inductees to the NAMM TECnology Hall of Fame Announced

Eight culturally-significant audio inventions will be inducted to the TECnology Hall of Fame (THOF), it was announced today by THOF Founder, George Petersen. The inventions span the 1940s through today and will be officially named during a ceremony held at The 2019 NAMM Show in Anaheim, California on Saturday, January 26. The event will be presented by the NAMM Museum of Making Music. Robert Moog’s classic synth, the Anechoic Chamber from Leo Beranek, and many other historic products and inventions are among the eight inductees.
