Recently, there has been increased demand for loudspeaker 3-D directivity measurements both in the near- and far-fields for different applications. This Test Bench analysis discusses Celestion CF1840JD pro sound 18” woofer. The CF1840JD is a fairly high power handling woofer rated at 1,000 WRMS (AES standard), featuring a substantial ferrite finite element analysis (FEA) optimized motor assembly, an 18” Kevlar-loaded paper cone and large 5.5” diameter paper dust cap. Acoustic design and measurement firm Warkwyn, recently acquired by US OEM speaker manufacturer MISCO, announced that it has completed the relocation of all operations from Ontario, Canada to Minneapolis and is now fully operational. The company also announced that its role as North American sales and training agent for Klippel GmbH has been renewed.
