Following the introduction of the EON One portable PA system last year, JBL Professional launched the new EON One Pro, a battery-powered and rechargeable portable personal linear-array PA system with improved design features that enable musicians and mobile presenters to perform anywhere. The collapsible design features a compact 8” subwoofer base, and improved sound dispersion, configurable depending on the number of high-frequency height spacers used.

In September 2015, JBL started shipping its new 7 Series Master Reference Monitors, to meet the requirements of broadcast and post-production facilities, with a 8-inch two-way, and 5-inch 2-way model that could also be part of complete 5.1, 7.1 and immersive sound monitoring systems. Now, JBL announced the launch of a new self-powered version of those same reference studio monitors, creating a more convenient solution without compromising performance.

In 2010, JBL Professional introduced its CBT series of vertical columns, trying to address the successful concept with a passive and more affordable approach. In 2013, Harman acquired the world market leader in vertical array loudspeakers, the Dutch company Duran Audio, and gained access to its sophisticated Digital Directivity Synthesis technology and Axys Intellivox range of products. At InfoComm 2016, JBL now introduced its flagship JBL CBT1000 column array, together with the JBL Intellivox HP-DS170 loudspeaker.

An innovative 3D audio lab recently put into use at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA, gives undergraduates and graduate students experience with a 57 channel ambisonic environment for both hands-on learning and research. This innovate effort uses equipment from a variety of companies that produce Dante-enabled network audio gear.
