Nordic Semiconductor to Demonstrate Bluetooth 5 Enhancements at CES 2017

Nordic Semiconductor in collaboration with its design partners are unveiling latest Bluetooth low energy and IEEE 802.15.4-enabled innovations at International CES 2017 in Las Vegas. The Norwegian company will demonstrate the capabilities of its Bluetooth 5-compatible nRF52 Series SoCs. Product demonstrations include contactless payment, wearables wireless charging, thread networking, voice-activated remote control, educational platforms, home automation and Bluetooth 5 enhancements.

Analog Devices introduced a low power, high performance, radio transceiver for battery powered applications. The new transceiver enables more reliable wireless radio connections with fewer retries and packet losses as well as longer battery lifetime. The ADF7030-1 features a highly sensitive receiver and superior immunity to signal interferences as well as low power modes, including the industry’s lowest current in sleep mode.

Freescale Semiconductor introduced the new Kinetis KW41Z – the industry’s first multi-mode radio MCU to support concurrent operation of IEEE 802.15.4 Thread and Bluetooth Smart/BLE connectivity while hosting associated applications. With Bluetooth v4.2 support, the Kinetis KW41Z MCU helps transform simple devices into advanced connected systems.
