In his report of the High End 2018 show in Munich, Ward Maas shares his findings in speaker design, amplification, turntables, and anything that showed innovations, an important improvement, better design, or simply because he couldn't resist it... At the High End 2018 show in Munich, I learned that there was this "very exciting and promising" new driver being introduced at the show. When we decided to visit the "Newcomers" exhibits, where new companies pitch their new ideas, inventions and, sometimes, actual products, we met British manufacturer Arya Audio Labs and we were pleased to find a longtime friend of audioXpress and Voice Coil, Arthur Marker, now in charge of this new company introducing AirBlade, a revolutionary loudspeaker driver!

High End 2018 Final Report Indicates High Satisfaction Among Exhibitors Albeit Less Visitors

After four successful exhibition days, the 37th High End in Munich ended on May 13. A total of 530 exhibitors (-2% compared to 538 in previous year) from 41 nations and 19,899 visitors (-7% compared to 21,412 in 20017) were counted, including 7,557 trade visitors (-6%) from throughout the world. This represented a slight decline in numbers compared to the previous year, as noted in audioXpress’ first impressions report of the High End show in Munich.

High End 2018 Report. Head-Spinning Sounds in Munich!

The 2018 High End show promised to be the best one ever, in part because of the most pleasant weather conditions experienced in Munich - almost summer like - turning the Bavarian region into a tourist postcard and making any outing a true pleasure and the entire experience of beer and German food even more enjoyable, particularly in the fantastic nearby Englischer Garten esplanades and restaurants.

Amphion Introduces Redesigned Helium and Argon Loudspeakers at High End Show in Munich

Finnish manufacturer Amphion Loudspeakers will demonstrate their updated Helium and Argon models at the 2018 High End Show in Munich, May 11-13. Amphion had earlier announced updates to Helium410, Helium510, Argon0, and Argon1. These bookshelf loudspeakers now come in redesigned cabinets. The two Helium models utilize new, higher-class components.
