Harman Launches New Soundcraft Ui Series Digital Mixers Following Acquisition of SM Pro Audio

Harman confirmed the acquisition of SM Pro Audio, based in Melbourne, Australia. The company was incorporated into the Harman Professional Division as a developer of pro audio and musical instruments (MI). At the 2015 NAMM Show, Harman launched the new Soundcraft Ui Series of remote-controlled digital mixers, featuring an integrated, onboard Wi-Fi router, as previously introduced by SM Pro Audio in April 2014.

During the IFA 2014 show in Berlin there were several major technology announcements from Harman consumer division. Leveraging the advances on Wi-Fi technology, Harman announced its new Wireless HD Audio System as “a breakthrough in high-quality wireless home streaming.” Harman also announced APIs for its lifestyle products will be made available for developers working on media streaming, audio applications, and advanced connected applications.

At the InfoComm 2014 Show in Las Vegas, Harman’s Crown Audio announced its DCi Network Display Amplifiers are “the first professional audio endpoints” to receive AVnu certification for Audio Video Bridging (AVB) interoperability from the AVnu Alliance.
