Announced earlier in 2017, British company Focusrite confirmed its new compact recording interface has now received Apple's MFi certification and is now available. The iTrack One Pre is an elegant and compact portable audio interface, combining a mic preamp and guitar input, designed for recording high-resolution audio directly to an iPhone or iPad without the need for external power. With a micro-suction base, iTrack One Pre will stick on any flat surface without moving, inviting users to record their tracks while on the go.

Focusrite Introduces Clarett OctoPre Featuring Eight “Air”-Enabled Microphone Preamps Plus 192kHz A-D/D-A

Focusrite has announced the launch of a new eight-channel microphone preamp and A-D/D-A converter, the Clarett OctoPre, designed to allow the rapid addition of eight mic/line inputs and line outputs to the company’s successful Clarett Thunderbolt range of audio interfaces, or other interfaces that include ADAT optical I/O. The eight specially-designed Clarett mic preamps include a switchable analogue ‘Air’ effect that imparts the sonic signature of the classic Focusrite ISA mic pre.

The 141st Audio Engineering Society (AES) International Convention in Los Angeles, CA, was a great success - maybe not as vibrant as past New York editions, but probably one of the best in terms of content/topics and number of sessions. The exhibition was always well attended and exhibitors were always busy, especially those targeting studio/recording applications - sometimes it even felt a bit like the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Show, with celebrities like Stevie Wonder walking around and some demos pumping the volume a little too much.

The second generation Scarlett is now “better, faster and easier,” as Focusrite explains. While the I/O count of every interface remains the same, the new Scarlett audio interfaces deliver Focusrite’s fastest USB performance yet, with roundtrip latency measurements as low as 2.74ms at 96kHz.
