L-Acoustics Announces Expanding Universe of Manufacturer Partnerships for L-ISA

L-Acoustics continues its campaign to change the live sound industry with its new approach to multi-source immersive sound reinforcement systems, since it launched its L-ISA technology in 2017. Because L-ISA demands a complete multi-layer sound design solution, the company now announced new partnerships with Avid, Blacktrax, DiGiCo and KLANG:technologies. L-Acoustics will promote L-ISA demonstrations at Prolight+Sound 2018 with these companies.

Solid State Logic Acquired by Audiotonix Group

Audiotonix announced the acquisition of Solid State Logic (SSL) as part of its expanding Group that already includes leading British audio brands DiGiCo, DiGiGrid, Calrec and Allen & Heath. The deal, which was concluded December 20, 2017, brings together the top flight of the world’s mixing consoles companies. Peter Gabriel, the majority shareholder in Solid State Logic, becomes an investor in Audiotonix as part of the transaction.

British digital audio solutions company, DiGiCo, announced the appointment of Austin Freshwater as its General Manager. Austin joins the DiGiCo team from Canon, the imaging and information technology solutions company, where he spent the previous 10 years working in sales, latterly becoming Sales Director for UK and Ireland. Austin will be working closely with DiGiCo’s VP Sales, Ian Staddon.

DiGiCo Reveals SD12 Compact Multi-Application Digital Mixing Console

During NAMM 2017, in Anaheim, CA, British company DiGiCo had a somewhat understated presence, back to back with its strategic technology partner Waves and the joint-development company DiGiGrid. Still, everything was new in the booth, starting with the SD7 Quantum 7 Stealth Core 2 upgraded console, followed by the S31, basically an S21 with 31 faders, and three 10" multi-touch screens. The main highlight at the DiGiCo booth was the worldwide launch of the new SD12, affordable, multi-application digital console.

Waves Audio and DiGiCo have expanded their DiGiGrid line of advanced audio interfaces with DiGiGrid IOS, an audio interface with a built-in SoundGrid DSP server for plugin processing. DiGiGrid IOS features eight mic/line inputs with broadcast/studio-quality preamps, eight line outputs, two headphone outputs, and MIDI, S/PDIF and AES ins and outs.
