Sennheiser Group Introduces new Executive Management Board

Following the realignment of the company with a focus on the professional audio business, Sennheiser now appointed a new management team. The new Executive Management Board includes representatives from the three business units Pro Audio, Business Communication and Neumann, as well as Supply Chain, Corporate Functions and Development. Together with Co-CEOs Daniel and Andreas Sennheiser, the Board members will implement the strategic goals of the Sennheiser Group.

Sennheiser announced a new strategic direction for the company. Sennheiser plans to focus on its Professional business in the future and aims to secure a partnership to strengthen its market position in Consumer Electronics. According to Andreas and Daniel Sennheiser, co-CEOs, with this decision to build greater independence for its business units, Sennheiser will be better prepared to continue on its course. The search for a potential investor in the consumer division is now open.

First showcased at the CES 2017 and NAMM 2017, the AMBEO Smart Headset is an intuitive, compact and mobile binaural recording solution that captures immersive 3D audio with mobile device simplicity. The binaural audio recordings created with the AMBEO Smart Headset deliver a stunning 3D experience – placing the listener inside the soundscape and playing back the direction of sounds and natural spatial characteristics of a location.

Seen for the first time at CES 2017, Sennheiser is now showcasing its new AMBEO Smart Surround solution – a compact earphone for immersive 3D audio recording - at NAMM 2017. Following the unveiling of Sennheiser’s AMBEO 3D audio technology program and the introduction of the AMBEO VR Mic, Sennheiser’s Smart Surround will be the brand’s first AMBEO consumer product, allowing anyone to capture and listen to binaural audio recordings on their smartphones with unprecedented simplicity.

This year, Sennheiser is celebrating its 70th anniversary and 70 years of innovation in “The Pursuit of Perfect Sound”, as its slogan goes. Here’s a short reminder of the company’s history. Having recently turned 70 years old, Prof. Dr. Jörg Sennheiser is handing over the chair of the supervisory board of Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co. KG to Dr. Frank Heinricht, as of January 1st, 2015. Frank Heinricht became a member of the supervisory board of Sennheiser five years ago. The company is now fully into the hands of Daniel and Andreas Sennheiser.
