NXP Advances AI Audio Processing with SAF9xxx Audio DSPs

NXP Semiconductors is improving AI audio capabilities in automotive infotainment and marking a significant improvement in automotive audio processing technology in general with the latest SAF9xxx family of audio DSPs. Utilizing Cadence’s latest generation high-performance Tensilica HiFi 5 DSPs, combined with dedicated neural-network engines, the SAF9xxx audio DSPs enable efficient implementation of next-generation, high-quality, self-learning audio and speech applications.

CML Micro announced the availability of a complete Digital Radio Mondiale broadcast receiver, making DRM-capable radio more cost-effective and accessible worldwide. The UK-based RF chip company launched the DRM1000 module – a complete DRM implementation that will enable consumer radio manufacturers to connect communities with low-cost, low-power DRM radio designs. The module is a joint development, combining CML Micro's expertise in wireless IC design with Cambridge Consultants' digital signal processing know-how.

Skyworks Solutions introduced the Si469xx family of automotive digital radio coprocessors for in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems. With its combination of integration, flexibility and low cost, the Si469xx family of coprocessors is optimized to operate with Skyworks’ Si479xx Hybrid Software Defined Radio (SDR) Tuners. The new Si469xx product family can demodulate and decode up to four digital radio channels supporting HD Radio, DAB/DAB+, DRM (for AM and FM), and CDR, providing high performance and unmatched scalability.

Silicon Labs has introduced new hybrid software-defined radio (SDR) tuners, expanding its portfolio to meet the growing need of automotive radio manufacturers to support all global digital radio standards with a common platform. In addition to introducing new DRM-capable tuners, Silicon Labs is enhancing its Si4790x/1x/5x/6x automotive tuners with unique “SDR-friendly” technology, effectively transforming these devices into hybrid SDR tuners.

CSR announced two new automotive infotainment products at TU Automotive Detroit 2015. The new CSRatlas7 platform combines hardware and software to boost simplicity, lower costs, and speed time-to-market. CSR also has entered the car radio tuner front-end market with tuneX, a cost-effective software-defined radio (SDR) solution for the in-vehicle environment.
