TASCAM Unveils New MZ-Series Rack-Mount Mixers

Continuing its long legacy of high-quality professional mixers, TASCAM has introduced the new MZ-223 and MZ-372 models with multiple outputs/zones and phono input channels. Both rack-mount analog mixers offer flexible inputs, mixing, and routing that makes them well suited for installs in small to mid-size venues such as restaurants, hotels, ballrooms, meeting rooms, and schools, as well as residences.

Gracenote, a Nielsen company, announced that it will power advanced music recognition for Mixcloud streaming platform, using next-generation audio fingerprinting to help identify and catalog copyrighted music within user-generated content. Using Gracenote's MusicID music recognition technology, Mixcloud will more accurately identify copyrighted audio content on its music platform to ensure proper royalty payments to rights holders.

Bavarian headphone manufacturer Ultrasone introduced the Signature DXP, dynamic closed-back headphones specifically tailored to DJs’ needs. With their hinged ear cups and shielding from background noise, the Signature DXP headphones are designed for use in the club. Ultrasone says the sound quality delivered by these headphones also makes them a great choice for studio environments or even living room enjoyment.

In 2015, Roland announced a collaboration with lifestyle and DJ brand V-MODA, targeting fashion-conscious DJs and musicians with the M-100 AIRA headphones, combining the DJ-acclaimed V-MODA Crossfade M-100 over-ear headphones with the brand’s own AIRA range of retro-inspired electronic musical instruments. The alliance was apparently a success because Roland has decided to acquire a majority stake in V-MODA.

Denon DJ, now part of the family of inMusic brands, has released three new enhanced headphone models, suitable for users from advanced hobbyist to critical professional. Affordably priced, the new HP Series have swiveling ear cups for one-handed monitoring and a comfortable folding design for long mix down sessions.

Electro-Voice introduced its latest portable sound family of speakers at the 2015 NAMM Show. The new EKX series targets live/club/installed sound applications and was engineered by EV to deliver best-in-class performance and reliability, using digital signal processing control, Signal Synchronized Transducers (SST) waveguide design, and Cardioid Control Technology for subwoofers.
