Avid Introduces Pro Tools | S3 Desktop Control Surface and Offers Incentives for Pro Tools 11 Upgrades

The new Pro Tools | S3 desktop control surface is a great middle level mixing solution, leveraging the same design of the S3 Live, including a 4x6 AVB Core Audio interface, for small project studios or on-the-go music and post mixing. During the 137th AES convention, Avid also announced new Pro Tools 11 licensing incentives, by providing access to future cloud features and software upgrades through March 2016.

Apogee Electronics is using the 137th AES Convention in Los Angeles - close to its headquarters in Santa Monica, California - to introduce the new Ensemble recording interface. The sucessor of the original Apogee Ensemble, released in 2007, is now a powerful 30x34 Thunderbolt 2 audio interface which Apogee says, at only 1.1ms, is the lowest round-trip latency performance available in any all-in-one audio interface.

The Swiss audio specialist will be introducing a variety of new hardware and software at the IBC show in Amsterdam (September 12-16) further expanding the options for the Horus and Hapi modular audio interfaces with a new AD and DA combination board. Merging will also display new features and plug-ins for its new 64-bit versions of Pyramix, Ovation and VCube.
