Powered by Synseer's in-ear infra + ultrasonic operating system (OS), a technology that monitors hearing and heart health in one single device, the HealthBuds design is said to offer a more accurate, affordable, and comfortable solution in a form factor that is increasingly familiar to the majority of consumers. According to the Florida-based company, HealthBuds still allow users to listen to music, take calls, or play games, like any conventional pair of true wireless earbuds, while the device is monitoring hearing, heart, and health.
"There is a direct connection between the ears and the heart. HealthBuds will make it possible for users to listen to their heart, track their hearing, and tune in to other signals their bodies are sending," the company states. The combination is possible thanks to the company's ear-tip design and embedded microphones. Synseer calls this an AudioDome, an environment that listens to every heartbeat and that the company says gathers vastly superior data, with higher frequency and fidelity than other monitoring devices.

"Extensive HealthBuds testing data demonstrates that they are comparable to expensive in-hospital equipment. They are the first devices in a personal health and wellness ecosystem being developed by Synseer. Every body tells a story that can improve our health, but most of us are not equipped to understand and respond to what our bodies are telling us,” says Synseer founder and CEO John Martino. "HealthBuds have been developed to allow users to truly listen to the unique stories their bodies are sharing with them so they can then take charge – to drive better hearing and better health."
The company will reveal more details about the features of the HealthBuds, which also include hearing assistance, apart from the health biometrics. The devices are targeted for a late summer 2025 release and will include a monthly subscription. Synseer also plans to offer the ability to exchange existing HealthBuds for a free upgrade every two years. Synseer will then refurbish the returned devices and provide them free to people with untreated hearing loss, through a non-profit foundation.
According to the company's website, the HealthBuds will require approval by the FDA before becoming available commercially. The HealthBuds will retail for $799 at launch, plus a $30 monthly subscription. Pre-orders are available for $399, plus a $25 monthly subscription.
