When it comes to portable speakers, one of the most challenging frontiers remains battery capacity, with consumers expecting light and compact systems to last as long as possible. There have been many improvements in power management, lowering the power on circuits and battery technology itself. But what if a portable speaker was able to harvest its own power from an integrated solar panel? That's what Renogy is proposing with the new E.Tunes Bluetooth Speaker.
The idea of solar powered portable speakers is not new in itself, but this one comes from a company specializing in renewable energy solutions and in particular solar panel products. The Ontario, CA, company started as a small project by students at Louisiana State University. Founded in 2010, at its inception, Renogy sold a limited range of solar products through Amazon, eBay, and a handful of suppliers. Gradually, Renogy has received recognition, expanding into a renewable energy company supplying a variety of quality solar products for homes, businesses, and recreation.
Now the company announced the E.Tunes Bluetooth Speaker, a splash proof, IPX6 design, ideal for outdoor weather, which also supports high quality music streaming via Bluetooth 4.2 or with the provided AUX cord. The E.Tunes conveniently features an LED light, a 5,000 mAH rechargeable battery, and a USB Fast Charge Port to power most devices multiple times.
“The E.Tunes Bluetooth Speaker has a built-in monocrystalline solar panel that wields the power of the sun, transforming it into a long-lasting energy source,” says Yi Li, CEO of Renogy. “We wanted to preserve the convenience of a portable speaker while upholding our mission to create clean, efficient energy.”
A solar Bluetooth speaker designed with portability and listening experience in mind, the E.Tunes weighs in at less than two pounds, and can be easily carried by the included strap or carried in a backpack. With a dynamic frequency range from 2 x 5W drivers that produce ≥85dB, enhanced bass provided by dual passive radiators, and 10 hours of playtime, this powerful sound system is more than just a simple speaker, providing charging convenience from its 5000mah Li-ion power bank and a side light with SOS mode in case of emergencies. Three dynamic equalization modes come pre-installed into the speaker for a personalized audio experience. When not in use, the E.Tunes Bluetooth Speaker will go into auto-sleep mode to reduce power consumption.
The E.Tunes Bluetooth Speaker is currently shipping on Amazon.com for $134.99.
