Renkus-Heinz has now announced the release of RHAON 2.1, a major update to the company’s RHAON II software now with support for Dante connectivity. The new v2.1 update of RHAON II (Renkus-Heinz Audio Operations Network) incorporates over 100 software updates and enhancements, including support for multiple zones, as well as a new Device Icon View mode for organizing larger systems. System Status reports covering all device parameters can easily be generated, and copy/paste of DSP settings between different device types is also supported.

Dante implementation is presently in the works as well for the company’s multiple point source and line array products. “Also currently in development is a fiber optic Dante option,” adds Temple. “This will give our customers even more flexibility and control, particularly with systems covering a very large area.”ICONYX Gen5 beam steering speakers combine the power of advanced beam steering algorithms with intuitive control from Renkus’ dedicated RHAON II System Designer software. Allowing direct TCP/IP control using industry-standard communications protocols, ICONYX Gen5 speakers deliver increased speed of operations, while new UniBeam technology and algorithms provide an additional 3-6dB of output potential compared with the previous series.
ICONYX Gen5 also added Master and Slave amplifier modules, reducing both cost and complexity, while also introducing a new hybrid column, the IC16-8-RN. This new module uses three fixed triple-tweeter full range devices, coupled with five spaced low and mid frequency 4” woofers, to extend the length and LF Beam control frequency while utilizing a single 8 channel amplifier module to keep costs down.
Gen5 ICONYX -RD versions include Dual Redundant Dante connectivity with audio transport and RHAON II control over the same Dante network interface. The RHAON II System Manager software has been completely redesigned from the ground up, using highly structured modular code for greater stability and expandability.The result is faster, and more reliable software, with a streamlined, intuitive workflow, fully compatible with legacy Renkus-Heinz products.
More importantly, the redesigned software features a new, network agnostic interface, designed to work with tomorrow’s networking protocols as well as today's. Currently supporting AVDECC IEEE1722.1, CobraNet, and AVB, RHAON II has been structured to allow easy implementation of new and emerging protocols, including Dante and AES67. Support for multiple NICs, and wireless operation makes RHAON II easy to integrate into existing network infrastructure.
