Loudspeaker Testing Services
Redrock Acoustics offers complete transducer testing and evaluation in the company's acoustics lab featuring Klippel Distortion Analyzer, calibrated measurement microphones and amplifiers, 80Hz IEC baffle, laser position sensors, thermal probes, Tesla meter, accelerometers, and a host of other acoustic and electronics test equipment.
Redrock has been a beta test site for the Klippel Analyzer for five years and has tested more speakers (of every imaginable type) than any other independent lab in the world - including numerous drivers measured for Voice Coil's Test Bench. Redrock is able to test virtually any type of loudspeaker including woofer, midrange, tweeters, and compression drivers. Woofer testing can be done in free air or in an enclosure.
Loudspeaker Design Services
In our 30 years of loudspeaker engineering, Redrock Acoustics designed and brought to market thousands of speakers for familiar product names, many of which have won loudspeaker design awards for their engineering and performance. Patrick Turnmire is the developer and the supplier of SpeaD and ReverseSpeaD software for loudspeaker design.
All of the tools required for loudspeaker engineering are available and include Magnet FEA (DC, AC, and Dynamic AC), solid modeling, mechanical FEA (static, non-linear, and modal), Thermal FEA, FineCone transducer FEA, Klippel Tester and proprietary speaker design tools that are exclusive to Redrock.

Origins
Redrock Acoustics started in 1985 to provide loudspeaker technical information to the car audio industry. In 1989 Redrock Acoustics became loudspeaker engineering consultants to Sonavox, one of the highest volume speaker manufacturers in the world. The huge number of new loudspeaker designs (hundreds per year) that Sonavox needed motivated the creation of SpeaD Loudspeaker Design software.
SpeaD was born of a combination of incredibly complex mathematical models and thousands of speaker samples to fine tune those models. During long months and years at the Sonavox factory, Patrick Turnmire wrote and polished the software until it was able to accurately predict Thiele Small parameters and produce a complete speaker design in a few minutes.
