Nureva Introduces Developer Toolkit With Cloud-Based APIs for Audio Conferencing Systems

February 15 2021, 00:35
Nureva, the fast-expanding Canadian innovator in advanced audio conferencing solutions, announced availability of its new Nureva Developer Toolkit to give developers secure access to a growing collection of cloud-based APIs for Nureva audio systems. Available now in open beta, the developer-focused tools make it easy to integrate Nureva systems with third-party products and workflows. The announcement is made while Nureva's systems are receiving industry accolades and recognition also from major partners.

Nureva's advanced audio conferencing solutions are getting industry recognition, particularly since the company launched its latest HDL200 audio conferencing system, with its unique ability to provide true full-room coverage in virtually any space configuration for standard meeting rooms, at a much more affordable price. Nureva’s HDL200 supports up to 4,096 virtual microphones providing true full-room coverage in any space up to 18'x18' (5.5x5.5m) and it installs easily almost anywhere – on a wall, floor stand or display. Powered by patented Microphone Mist technology, the system calibrates automatically and continuously so the room is always ready to go for every meeting style – even if the room is reconfigured. And more importantly, in-room participants can be dispersed for safety protocols or move around and still be heard clearly by remote participants.

Using Nureva audio systems' APIs for device management and device control, third-party and in-house developers can easily access device information, update firmware and control settings. This enables users to automate daily routine tasks and leverage a broader ecosystem of integrated products and applications. For example, this enables to build a custom application that notifies users if a Nureva audio device becomes unavailable, write a script to install firmware updates or leverage an integration to their room control system.

The Nureva Developer Toolkit will allow organizations to quickly manage their Nureva audio systems the way they want and easily connect them to a broader ecosystem of applications and products.

Nureva continues to focus on simplicity with a modern cloud-based solution backed by Microsoft Azure’s infrastructure to give users secure access to their devices from anywhere. As the world is undergoing digital transformation in every industry, traditional audiovisual approaches that depend on multiple layers of local servers and exploitable password-based authentication will limit organizations that are seeking ways to get the most value out of their technology products.

A recent State of API Integration Report reveals that efforts to deliver connected experiences via digital platforms depend critically on an organization’s API integration strategy. Over 80% of respondents consider API integration a critical part of their business strategy. The Nureva Developer Toolkit allows developers to integrate Nureva audio systems safely and seamlessly into other applications and streamline business-critical information and processes.

"We want to empower customers to integrate and manage their Nureva audio systems the way they want,” says Nancy Knowlton, Nureva’s CEO. “The Nureva Developer Toolkit makes this possible in a simple, cloud-based toolset that avoids the complexity of traditional solutions.”

The Nureva Developer Toolkit is available to all Nureva audio conferencing customers and third-party developers at no additional cost. Users can access the toolkit directly from Nureva Console or on Nureva’s website. Broad deployment of multiple Nureva systems is supported by Nureva Console, a cloud-based platform that makes it easy for organizations to manage their systems across multiple locations from a single, secure dashboard.

Industry Recognition
Nureva recently received Frost & Sullivan’s 2020 Global Technology Innovation Leadership Award, presented to the company that has demonstrated uniqueness in developing and leveraging new technologies that deliver significant customer value. The prestigious award recognizes Nureva’s Microphone Mist technology as a high value innovation in audio conferencing. Nureva’s advanced audio systems leverage the technology to provide consistent full-room microphone pickup, continuous autocalibration and intelligent sound targeting to eliminate unwanted sounds, like HVAC, making them an ideal match for today’s hybrid meeting and learning spaces. The product line includes the HDL200 for small rooms, HDL300 for mid-size rooms and Dual HDL300 for large rooms, featuring easy DIY installation.

And the Nureva HDL300 audio conferencing system is now certified as a Microsoft Teams Room device. After undergoing Microsoft’s rigorous testing process, the HDL300 system became the first microphone and speaker bar to be certified for large meeting spaces up to 15'x28' (4.5x8.5m). IT teams can quickly and easily install and set up the HDL300 system in under an hour. The system hangs on a wall with two screws and connects via USB to a computer with Teams software. Powered by 8,192 virtual microphones, it calibrates automatically and continuously so the Teams Room is always ready to go – even if it has been reconfigured to accommodate changing uses or distancing protocols.

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Teams has become indispensable to a growing number of organizations and education institutions around the globe that have shifted to a hybrid model, where a combination of workers or learners are physically in the same space, alongside those who are remote. Recent data show that daily active Teams users climbed to over 115 million at the end of October, and more than 230,000 education institutions are using Teams for remote and hybrid learning.

"As the global adoption of Teams continues to grow, so will the need for reliable audio conferencing solutions that deliver performance without complexity," says Nancy Knowlton, Nureva’s CEO.

A month before that announcement, Nureva's HDL300 and Dual HDL300 audio conferencing systems have also received certification for use with Barco ClickShare Conference, a wireless presentation and conferencing solution. Together, they bring intuitive, platform-agnostic collaboration into any hybrid meeting or classroom environment. Users can wirelessly connect to the AV equipment in the room by plugging a Barco ClickShare Conferencing Button into their laptop and clicking the Button. This automatically recognizes Nureva audio systems to create an immersive BYOM (bring your own meeting) experience for in-room and remote participants.

"Our simple, one-click wireless conferencing solution perfectly connects with the advanced audio solutions of Nureva, offering a complete experience for flexible meeting for both in-room and remote attendees," says David Fitzgerald, vice president, Global Alliances at Barco.

"This certification reflects a growing ecosystem that leverages our standard plug-and-play connectivity for interoperability with all third-party UC&C clients, CODEC solutions and device-sharing plugins," adds Nancy Knowlton, Nureva’s CEO.
