New MUTEC Astralius Flagship DAC Meets the Highest Demands in Digital Audio Playback

MUTEC GmbH, a Berlin-based company recognized for its professional audio technology for studio and high-end applications, announced the launch of the Astralius DAC at the 2025 High End Munich. This state-of-the-art Re-Clocking Digital/Analog Converter combines Dual-Mono Analog Conversion with the company's REVIVE Re-Clocking Algorithm to eliminate jitter, taking digital audio to a new level of precision and musicality.
 
Since 2013, when MUTEC released its first externally synchronizable ultra-low jitter master clock and audio-re-clocker, the MC3+, the company quickly gained recognition not only from audio professionals, but also many audio enthusiasts still looking to take digital audio to another level. The MC3+ was followed in 2016 by the improved version MC3+USB, significantly increasing the sound quality of any computer-based music playback system at home, and allowing MUTEC to expand into the worldwide hi-fi market. 

Today, MUTEC continues to expand its range of high-quality A/V reference master clocks, audio re-clockers, interfaces, format converters and signal distributors, all manufactured in Germany, with many important components coming directly from local productions of specialized suppliers. 

The Astralius builds upon the success of MUTEC’s MC3+ series and sets new standards in digital audio reproduction, leveraging the unique 1G-Clock technology and REVIVE Re-Clocking algorithm that set industry standards in the performance of ultra-low phase noise clocking for playback and transmission of digital audio signals.

The Astralius employs a dual-mono architecture, using one ESS Sabre DA converter per channel for maximum resolution and dynamics. The 10MHz reference clock input enables synchronization with external clock generators such as the MUTEC REF10 and REF10 SE120, further reducing jitter from the source signal in studios and complex digital audio chains. To meet all needs, the Astralius offers eight digital inputs, including USB, AES/EBU, S/P-DIF (optical/coaxial) and I²S via HDMI and RJ45. This range of connectivity options enables seamless integration into any digital setup, whether for studio or hifi systems, also thanks to its high-quality analog output balanced and unbalanced section. The integrated headphone amplifier with its own volume control and remote control offers flexibility to enjoy music with the highest precision and detail directly through headphones.

In high-end stereo systems the Astralius can be connected as the central D/A converter for streamers, CD transports, and other digital sources, with the Re-Clocking input stage reducing jitter. In studio or mobile setups the Astralius can be used as a precise monitoring DAC – connected to an audio interface, laptop, or the monitor output of a mixing console.

Unveiled for the first time at High End 2025 in Munich, the MUTEC Astralius is scheduled to become available in Fall 2025.
