The new updated KRK headphones are designed to deliver an accurate listening experience in a high-performance package. The KNS 6402 and 8402 models combine all the features that provide value for musicians and producers of all levels as reliable tools for educated ears. Additionally, the 8402 has a new look that KRK believes to be better adjusted for professional studio applications, while the 6402 will be more adjusted to the traditional at-home producer’s style.
Whether used for studio tracking, editing, mixing, or for any general listening applications, the new KNS headphones are fit for the job. With a closed-back circumaural (around the ear) design, both the KNS 8402 and KNS 6402 headphones offer an extremely comfortable listening experience to support music producers through long studio sessions, without any fatigue. Also, the headband features a self-aligning yoke system to ensure the best possible fit. Constructed with impact-resistant plastic material, the new KRK headphones are lightweight and durable, with field-replaceable parts, including the pads and cable.
"KNS headphones are my personal go-to; they faithfully replicate what I’m listening to and quickly replaced my much more expensive pair,” says Sterling Doak, Director of Marketing for Gibson. “New and improved, we’ve taken our favorite headphones up a notch with a strong build and feather-weight comfort. For anyone from music hobbyists to professional engineers searching for a pair of professional headphones without breaking the bank, KNS is a fantastic option. Plus, with excellent isolation performance, KNS headphones let you focus on the music, without distraction from external sounds.”

The KNS 6402 model (pictured above, with the more visible KRK logo) features acoustic cellular foam pads and provides up to 26dBA of isolation with a 122dB maximum SPL rating and great frequency response. The KNS 8402 headphones feature memory foam pads with premium leatherette covers, offering superior comfort during long hours of listening and recording sessions. The KNS 8402 headphones provide up to 30dBA of isolation to block out even more external noise and feature a slightly higher SPL with a 124dB maximum SPL rating and extended frequency response. They also feature a cable with in-line volume control, further enhancing the user experience and providing a complete spectrum of volume level options.
Perfect for a range of applications, both in and out of the studio, these updated KRK KNS headphones stand-out for its wide frequency response and dynamic range, and consistent voicing with low distortion. The isolating foam pads significantly reduce any bleed into microphones when recording.
As part of Gibson Pro Audio, KRK has become synonymous with quality design, performance and great value in the world of studio monitors, subwoofers, and headphones.
