Gallagher-Powell joins d&b group following a number of strategic and financial leadership roles with globally recognized organizations including PwC, RFRSH and CSM Sports & Entertainment, where he was Group CFO. "His proven track record in building growth models and improving business performance through strategic initiatives will complement d&b group's ambition to drive industry-leading innovation and operational success," the company announcement states.

Gallagher-Powell's responsibilities as CSO are described as "leading the company’s long-term strategic direction, identifying new opportunities for growth, leading M&A efforts and further strengthening d&b’s position as a global leader in audio and event technology. His senior management experience leading market expansion efforts will be instrumental as d&b continues to enhance and grow its offerings and customer experience," the company adds.
From its roots in Germany as a quality-obsessed manufacturer of professional audio solutions, since 1981 d&b audiotechnik evolved to become a leading brand in touring, events, and particularly installed sound. In 2021, the organization decided to expand into system design and installation with the acquisition of British company AVLM (Audio Visual, Lighting and Media). This led later to the resulting organization being acquired by an American private equity firm, Providence Equity Partners. With the two branches of activity, d&b is now an organization that designs and sells "memorable, multisensorial experiences," as they describe.
