Fulcrum Acoustic Showcases New Products and Technologies at InfoComm 2024

June 10 2024, 01:10
InfoComm 2024 will be a decisive moment for Fulcrum Acoustic, following the creation of its Fulcrum Immersive division, and the acquisition of Venueflex digital signal processing systems, allowing the company to enter the growing immersive audio and active acoustics market. For InfoComm, Fulcrum brings new RX series installation speakers, upgraded Fulcrum One software, and advanced digital signal processors supporting object-based mixing and active acoustics technologies.

Founded in 2008, Fulcrum Acoustic is a professional loudspeaker manufacturer known for its unique approach to loudspeaker design. Employing the research of company co-founder David Gunness, Fulcrum Acoustic combines proprietary coaxial design and Temporal Equalization processing power to create a powerful and versatile line of professional loudspeakers that help solve unique audio challenges.

For InfoComm 2024, Fulcrum Acoustic will demonstrate an expanded range of compact installation loudspeakers and new capabilities for its Fulcrum One software, complementing the company's Venueflex series of multi-function digital signal processors.

"We are excited for people to experience the confluence of our hardware and software development efforts over the past year. The loudspeaker products we’re debuting are perfect companions to support the active acoustics, object-based mixing and other complimentary technologies that are powered by the Venueflex processor and managed in our One software," comments Stephen Siegel, President of Fulcrum Acoustic, on the company's plans for InfoComm 2024.

Fulcrum's popular RX series of compact installation speakers is now updated with new sizes and features that match the growing requirements for fixed and temporary installations. The updated RX series now features improved 5.25" and 6.5" models and the addition of a 4" and 8" speaker models. The new, ultra-compact RX4 (100° x 100°) enclosure can be easily integrated into walls, stair risers, stage lip, and under balcony applications. The new RX8 (90° x 70°) expands the capabilities of the RX series by delivering more output and an extended low frequency response. The updated RX5 (90° x 70°) and RX6 (90° x 70°) have a refined aesthetic, improved mounting options and a new crossover and horn design for improved off-axis response.

"RX has been extremely successful for us over the years because of its compact size, extreme output and high fidelity. The market has been asking for a smaller and larger solution in this range. With this update, we’re offering more sizes and a sleeker look, while maintaining the RX’s signature sonic character," says Todd Foster, Fulcrum VP of Sales.

These RX speaker are recognized for delivering surprisingly high-output from small enclosures and are ideal in applications where high SPLs are required but limited space is available. Their broad coverage patterns are effective even in close quarters and their coaxial design assures even, consistent sound throughout the pattern. They are minimally intrusive and can be seamlessly integrated into any venue.

The new RX series will debut at InfoComm 2024 and visitors will be able to hear them in action in demo room N102, also showcased on booth C9335. There, the company will have a dedicated software kiosk and encourages visitors to get hands-on experience with its One software to design and simulate traditional and immersive audio systems. Visitors can also try the IntelliCloud WebUI software from APEX to remotely monitor and manage CloudPower amplifiers.
At demo room N102, Fulcrum Acoustic will present features from the upcoming 1.2 release of its Fulcrum One software. The company will show One's ability to predict acoustical and sound system response and simulate acoustical treatments in a room model. The company will also demonstrate new third-party control integration with the industry-standard OSC protocol and built-in support for the Blacktrax real-time tracking system. Additionally, Fulcrum will also exhibit the enhanced accessibility and functionality of its object-based mixing and active acoustics technologies driven by Venueflex processors.

The Venueflex processors run exclusively on Fulcrum One Software, an all-in-one software solution for the design, simulation and control of acoustics, loudspeaker and immersive systems. No more switching applications. The same program can be used from design conception, starting with planning and arrangement of speakers, acoustical treatments, and immersive components in 3D, simulation, and optimization. One Software is also where the whole system can then be controlled, including management of Fulcrum Immersive tools, loudspeaker processing, speaker arrays, adaptive steering, and other components, with real-time performance analysis.

"At InfoComm last year, we unveiled our One software and immersive audio technologies. This year we are excited for people to try out these tools for themselves and imagine how they can be implemented in their own real-world applications," says Stephen Siegel.
