Earthquake Sound Corporation introduced the Hum Kleaner, an active converter that provides two channels of unbalanced-to-balanced and balanced-to-unbalanced level conversion in a resilient, compact, and portable unit. Balanced lines offer increased immunity to external electrical noise such as hum. Since a balanced system minimizes induced noise, it is the preferred method of audio connections, especially when long lengths of cables are used.
For over 27 years, Earthquake Sound has produced a variety of high quality audio products that have impressed users around the world. In 1997, using his existing expertise in the audio industry, Joseph Sahyoun expanded his company to home audio production. From mobile audio to prosound and home audio, Earthquake Sound has been selected as the winner of many prestigious awards based on sound quality, performance, value and features. Additionally, Earthquake Sound has been granted many design patents by the USPO for revolutionary audio designs that have changed the sound of the audio industry
The new Hum Kleaner from Earthquake Sound is designed to solve the hum issue often found in audio installations, providing two channels of balanced level conversion in a resilient, compact, and portable unit. The Hum Kleaner accepts unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR/TRS inputs and converts them into balanced XLR/TRS and unbalanced RCA. It also features an input selector switch to select between the active inputs and gain level adjustment. Its low noise, low distortion circuitry allows the Hum Kleaner to eliminate hum that may be introduced to the signal along the installation process.
The new compact solution is a valuable tool for applications in areas such as home or professional recording studios, live sound, PA, permanent installs, DJ, AV, consumer HiFi, and broadcasting. It can be used with mixers, audio processors, laptop computers, computer sound cards, CD/DVD/Blu-ray players, video gaming machines, MP3 players/recorders, powered monitors, and digital audio workstations.
Earthquake Sound ships the Hum Kleaner with an external 24VDC power supply with an MSRP of $149.00.
