In the past, Bryston introduced trade-up program in the US and Canada, offering users of older amplifiers, a chance to upgrade to more recent models. Just in June 2020, Bryston introduced the 4B Trade-Up Program, offering an enticing path toward ownership of a Bryston Cubed Series 4B3 amplifier. But the reality is, many of the older Bryston amplifiers remain in use in homes and recording studios. The Back to the Future program now offers three basic tiers of restoration services that can be purchased individually or combined on each vintage product.
Tier 1 Electrical allows owners of vintage Bryston amplifiers to receive a complete inspection of all electrical and mechanical functions with replacement of appropriate parts, for $1000.00 USD. A second tier focuses on cosmetic upgrades, and includes a reworked faceplate, top, and handles. This involves a total refinishing of the current hardware on a vintage amplifier, although it does not include chassis, back-panel, or heatsinks. Bryston's technicians will do their best to fix dents, imperfections, bends etc. for $600.00 USD.
A third tier enables users to renew the output power transistors, replacing old components with the most recent applicable power devices for just $400.00 USD. All prices include shipping to and from Bryston (within North America).
"Because we have such a large number of beautifully designed and manufactured amplifiers out there that have been in use for as many as four-plus decades, we felt that offering these restoration service options to our customers was important,” explains Bryston CEO James Tanner. "We have built our brand based largely upon a reputation for audio products that deliver outstanding performance and durability — this program certainly reinforces Bryston’s commitment to quality and service."
