Bowers & Wilkins is promoting its sixth iteration of the 600 Series speaker range "for the growing number of young vinyl enthusiasts and hi-resolution audio fans," out there. Certainly for those able to appreciate the story of the famous British audio brand, but also looking at an accessible price point.
The Bowers & Wilkins 600 Series range has previously won a host of awards for great value and high performance. Now, Bowers & Wilkins is launching a new range composed of four speakers and matching subwoofers that feature several improvements from their predecessors. With advanced technology, discreet style and the ability to outperform more expensive rivals, the new 600 Series sets a higher sound quality standard at a competitive price point.
This quality and value is achieved by integrating Continuum drivers first used in the Bowers & Wilkins' flagship 800 Series Diamond range, now available in every model in the new 600 Series range. The new 600 Series is now the most affordable range to incorporate the Continuum cone midrange driver, developed and exclusively manufactured by Bowers & Wilkins to improve upon the transparency and accuracy of the iconic Kevlar cone.
The new 600 Series also introduces an updated version of its acclaimed Decoupled Double Dome Tweeter technology for even clearer and more accurate high-frequency performance. This technology, paired with new paper cone low-frequency drivers in the flagship 603, ensures rich, powerful bass response.
The new range is available in Matte Black and Satin White and includes the 603 flagship and largest speaker in the series, a floor standing speaker with the decoupled double dome tweeter, an FST midrange driver using the Continuum cone, plus dual paper-cone bass drivers (Price for each: $900, €800). Next up is the 606, a compact speaker ideal for stand or bookshelf use, offering outstanding bass extension combining the decoupled double dome tweeter technology with a 6.5-inch Continuum cone (Price for each: $400, €350). The 607 is the smallest in the range, designed for use on a bookshelf or surround positions. It uses a main 5-inch Continuum cone mid/bass driver and decoupled dome tweeter (Price for each: $300, €265). The new 600 Series is completed with the HTM6, a slim, dedicated centre channel speaker with considerable power, featuring the decoupled double dome tweeter plus dual 5-inch Continuum cone mid/bass drivers (Price for each: $599, €529).
Completing the range are three subwoofers - models ASW610XP, ASW610 and ASW608 - carried across from the previous 600 Series with updated finishes to match the new range (Price for each ASW610XP: $1,200, €1,100), (Price for each ASW610: $650, €600) and (Price for each ASW608: $500, €450).
