The new beyerdynamic TG MM1w interchangeable measurement microphone capsule features omnidirectional polar pattern, with a linear frequency response in a compact and robust housing, made in Germany. In combination with the beyerdynamic TG 1000 handheld transmitter, it makes possible to perform measurements and calibrate sound systems in large auditoriums and live sound applications without the need for extended cabling.
According to beyerdynamic, the transmission characteristics for this all-in-one solution have been selected to achieve a linear frequency response and therefore natural sound reproduction. The omnidirectional polar pattern of the TG MM1w makes possible to measure the sound equally from all directions, while the compact all-metal housing has minimal influence on the acoustic environment and is also very robust.
Ulf Oeckel, a freelance FOH mixing & audio system engineer, has already tested the TG MM1w on Adele’s “Adele Live 2016” world tour. Since 1996, Oeckel has worked as a system engineer on many tours, including with Rammstein, Sade, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pink, Cher, Mark Knopfler, and others.
