With the new artificial ear, HEAD acoustics provides a unique ear simulator with human-like ear canal, a human-like impedance simulation combined with a low-noise microphone implementation whose noise floor is below the human threshold of hearing. The HEAD acoustics head and torso simulator HMS II.3 LN HEC equipped with this new ear simulator is ideally suited for all types of headphone, headset and hearable measurements. This includes all active noise cancellation (ANC) implementations where the noise floor of the test equipment is of critical importance. In addition, this ear is equally well suited for all types of handset and hands-free measurements.
"The new HEAD acoustics HEC artificial ear is a milestone in the development of artificial ears. It ideally combines the requirements of naturalness by providing human-like pinna and ear canal simulation with technical requirements such as low-noise, repeatability and standardization,” says Dr. Hans W. Gierlich, managing director Telecom at HEAD acoustics GmbH.
The new HEC artificial ear is now available together with the, recently launched, new generation head and torso simulator from HEAD acoustics.
