French loudspeaker manufacturer Active Audio debuted its new Ray-On Powered over Ethernet (PoE) loudspeaker column arrays at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2020 in Amsterdam. In another example of how systems integrators are clearly adopting AoIP solutions, the new Ray-On loudspeaker series has been designed to bring Active Audio’s high-quality sound into a new generation of smart buildings where networking is key. An elegant, effective and easy-to-integrate solution for corporate buildings, hotels, and retail.
The Ray-On PoE Series features a comprehensive PoE+ interface (IEEE 802.3at), which provides 45W of continuous power on the RJ45 network connector, a 60W internal audio power amplifier, and a Dante input into a self-powered column array loudspeaker. The new column arrays also offer internal signal processing with optimizations tools that leverage Active Audio’s patented DGRC steering technology to create well-defined coverage patterns, combining acoustics geometry and filtering.
The new Active Audio loudspeaker series includes the R70-PoE model using 6 drivers in a 70cm column loudspeaker; the R110-PoE with 12 drivers in a 110cm column loudspeaker; and the B70-PoE featuring 7 drivers in a 70cm soundbar format to provide optimized horizontal directivity. According to the French company, the addition of PoE technology resulted from a market requirement for an easy to install solution with the quality, consistency of coverage, ease of use, and simple setup that the company's products are known for.
Active Audio is a manufacturer of professional loudspeaker systems dedicated to speech intelligibility in complex and difficult spaces. Using the company's patented DGRC (Digital & Geometric Radiation Control) principle in its column loudspeaker systems, Active Audio successfully developed the StepArray and Ray-On seres, which can be complemented with Vendôme in-wall installation speakers and CL62 Series ceiling speakers. Active Audio also offers a complete solution with the addition of aubwoofers, audio processors, amplifiers and accessories. The new Ray-On PoE column array loudspeakers are now shipping.
