The Bavarian headphone specialist Ultrasone announced a new generation of its highly acclaimed closed top model from the PRO series, the PRO 900i. These headphones for professional users and discerning music lovers feature the company’s S-Logic Plus technology and are now even more comfortable to wear thanks to a new expanded headband design. With a PRO box hard case and cables for studio, hi-fi and mobile use with tablets and notebooks, the PRO 900i is ideally equipped for any situation.The PRO 900i addresses both professional sound engineers and discerning music lovers equally: both require dynamic, linear, closed headphones of the highest precision. That’s why Ultrasone have chosen a 40-millimeter Mylar sound transducer, hardened with titanium to offer maximum impulse response and extended frequency range, from 6 Hz to 42 kHz.
The closed design principle provides a particularly precise bass reproduction with the added benefit that sound does not escape and distracting external noise is reduced. In addition, S-Logic Plus, Ultrasone’s patented technology offers decentered configured transducers and incorporates the shape of the outer ear into the headphone’s design, providing a better stereo impression. At the same time, detailed depth gradation is achieved thanks to the inner ear reverberations, making each piece of music sound closer to an actual acoustic environment.
Headphones have to sound good and be comfortable and this is exactly what Ultrasone has improved in the new 900i version. The new model features a new expanded headband cushioning, making these headphones even more comfortable to wear. The durable artificial leather and velvet ear cushions ensure they are also pleasant to touch.Like all headphones in the PRO range, the Ultrasone PRO 900i has an ultra-solid design based on a durable, elastic plastic in the ear cups and a headband construction with metal strip. The sustainable design allows replacement of almost every individual component. The detachable cable is securely attached to the headphones by means of a screw lock. The ear cushions can be attached simply and quickly using the Ultrasone speed-switch system with its bayonet connector – and in this way can also be easily replaced when worn out.
For particularly safe transport and optimal storage, Ultrasone also includes the stable PRO box with the PRO 900i. This high-quality hardcase not only encases the headphones, but also the extensive included accessories: the PRO box contains a 1.5m ultra-soft cable with 3.5mm stereo jack for work and music enjoyment on a notebook, smartphone or tablet. This is complemented by a professional 3m coiled cable with 6.3mm Neutrik stereo jack. In addition, there is also a pair of replacement ear pads.
