This year’s Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) Expo event is being held in Dallas, TX, at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, from October 14–17, 2015, with the actual exhibit sessions taking place from October 15–17. 2015 CEDIA Expo includes special focus areas for security, two-channel audio, and high performance audio rooms.
The first CEDIA Expo was held in Amelia Island, FL, in 1990. It hosted 500 attendees and featured tabletop displays from some of the industry’s pioneers. Since that time, the show has exponentially grown in both exhibiting companies and attendees. In 2014, CEDIA Expo attracted more than 480 exhibiting companies and 18,500 attendees.
CEDIA Expo has unquestionably become one of the most important shows for home theater and distributed audio loudspeaker manufacturers with an impressive list of loudspeaker manufacturers and other loudspeaker related exhibitors. As has been the tradition since it began, CEDIA University is providing a wide selection of workshops, classes, and seminars related to the audiovisual (AV) installation industry.
CEDIA University audio-related courses for this year include the Advanced Home Theater Design Workshop, “AMP” Up Your Speaker System Knowledge, Audio Set-Up and Calibration, and Home Theater Audio and Acoustics Part I, II and III.
Exhibits and AwardsThe 2015 edition of CEDIA Expo is at the epicenter of the future home experience providing attendees the opportunity to prepare and understand the trends that will drive the future of the industry and their business. The vision of the future extends from the opening keynote, to the show floor, the classroom, and beyond.

CEDIA Expo will offer 101 training courses and more than half are new. Beyond the new courses, this year attendees also have an easier way to select courses based on their role within their company and the industry. New training pathways outline suggested course selections including what steps can be taken to prepare pre-show. Example pathways include: Visionary, Designer, Rookie Tech, and Network Guru.
The show floor is another area where attendees can find inspiration to be future-focused. CEDIA Expo has consistently been a showcase for the latest and greatest from industry manufacturers and a forum for integrators to connect with the people behind the products. The show will conclude with a showcase of industry achievement representing the future home experience at the CEDIA Awards Celebration. The event will honor the best and most innovative residential technology solutions in the custom installation industry. Top integrators and manufacturers will receive awards for their achievements.
The 2015 Manufacturers’ Excellence Awards finalists include 30 products in the Best New Product category. The winners will be revealed Friday, October 165. In addition, winners will be recognized at the annual CEDIA Awards Celebration on Saturday, October 17.
