At the InfoComm 2015 show, Aviom is going to introduce the new D400 and the D400-Dante A-Net Distributors, designed to distribute power and digital audio data to an Aviom personal mixing system at a price point that is even more affordable than ever.
Two versions of the D400 are available: the standard D400 has an A-Net input and is perfect for those using an analog input module or a digital console card as the front end of their system, while the D400-Dante has Dante I/O instead of the A-Net input. The D400-Dante allows up to 32 Dante channels to be routed to the personal mixing system, which makes connecting to a Dante-enable digital console or audio network as simple as plugging in a Cat-5 cable.
Up to eight personal mixers can be connected to each D400 or D400-Dante’s A-Net outputs, and an unlimited number of distributors can be used when creating larger systems with more than eight performers. “The D400 and D400-Dante make designing a new Aviom personal mixing system even easier and more affordable,” explains Aviom’s product research and development manager, Ray Legnini. “For users with existing systems, the D400 and D400-Dante offer additional flexibility when it comes time to expand or upgrade a system.”
The D400 and the D400-Dante are fully compatible with both the original Pro16 version of A-Net and the new Pro16e version of A-Net, the technology driving the A360 and A320 Personal Mixers which allows multiple 16-channel banks of monitoring content to be delivered over a single Cat-5 cable. All Aviom products are designed, manufactured, and supported in the USA.
Helping musicians fix their monitors
Aviom personal mixers are designed with the performing and recording musician in mind, with streamlined user interfaces and powerful, practical features. With the release of the A360 Personal Mixer in 2013, Aviom introduced a number of new features and improved the sound quality of the whole solution. In 2014, the brand introduced the A320 mixer, with an interface that is easier to use than anything Aviom designed before, while also being more affordable.
Ideal for use with in-ear monitors as well as headphones, the A320 delivers features for precise mix control while also preserving the simplicity required for use while performing. All mixing features are instantly available — no menus to navigate, no complex programming, no computer required — so customizing and adjusting a mix is fast and intuitive.
The A320 includes the innovative Stereo Placement control introduced on the A360, but in a simplified version that combines the pan and spread of stereo signals into a single control. This allows both mono and stereo sources to be positioned in the stereo field of the mix as a whole, significantly improving the user experience with in-ear monitors and headphones, while providing the most streamlined user interface.
Recently, Aviom also introduced the A360 Display app for iPhone and iPod touch, providing a visual display of volume levels, Stereo Placement information, tone and reverb levels, as well as signal levels for each mix channel. In addition, the app allows users to name channels and presets as well as see the customized network slot map for the selected Personal Mixer.
The Meter View is also a helpful tool for performers and engineers alike, displaying real-time signal level for each channel. A meter for the digital mix output is available on the Master View. Aviom’s distribution systems are required to connect with the iOS devices, through the Wi-Fi router.
