Auralex Acoustics Sustain Series of diffusors are hand-made with environmentally-friendly bamboo. Not only are they aesthetically pleasing with its natural finishing, but they are also some of highest performing diffusors in the manufacturer’s catalogue.
Auralex Acoustics is now shipping enhanced “v2” models of its popular Sustain Bamboo Sound Diffusors with a new and improved design which was based on customer input and extensive testing, also improving aesthetics to complement any space. The new bamboo diffusors feature sharper angles and updated construction that enhances the premium performance that these diffusors are known for.
Auralex Sustain v2 Bamboo Sound Diffusors uses bamboo, which is sustainably grown and harvested, and are able to provide optional absorption and advanced diffusion when back-filled with Mineral Fiber or Studiofoam. The panels are available in 23-inch x 23-inch sizes, while depth varies depending on model, all mathematically and geometrically engineered for optimized diffusion characteristics. Mounting is possible directly on walls, ceilings or drop grid mounting options (model-dependent)
In addition to enhanced v2’s of the popular Sustain Prism, Sustain Lens, Sustain QuadraTec and Sustain Pyramid, Auralex is now offering the new Sustain Metro Bamboo diffusor. The Sustain Metro adds a contemporary cityscape aesthetic, while its exacting design eliminates flutter echoes and evenly disperses acoustical energy throughout any environment.
The Auralex Sustain Metro Bamboo eliminates flutter echoes and other acoustical anomalies without removing acoustical energy from the space. This design disperses sound evenly to create a more consistent listening or recording environment. The Sustain Bamboo Prism series is sized to drop into a suspended ceiling grid or they can be installed using the supplied mechanical fasteners.
The solution can be beneficial in numerous applications: creating a “large sound” in a small room, optimizing absorption panels by redirecting energy so that they are more efficient, or using the acoustical properties of an adjacent space to enhance a listening or recording environment. The WaveLens is sized to drop into a suspended ceiling grid or can be installed using the supplied mechanical fasteners.
The Auralex Sustain Lens - also part of the revamped Bamboo series - can be used to build a Wave6 configuration. This is a set of (6) Sustain Lens that install in various patterns. It scatters and redirects acoustical energy and can be an effective alternative to absorbing reflections. The Lens can be beneficial in numerous applications: creating a “large sound” in a small room, optimizing absorption panels by redirecting energy so that they are more efficient, or using the acoustical properties of an adjacent space to enhance your listening or recording environment.
Sustain QuadraTec Diffusors provide excellent scattering properties, resulting in a warm, musical character to the dispersed sound. QuadraTec Diffusors are a nested pair, offering two unique diffusion tools that when used in combination with each other can result in a more spacious feel in any room. The lightweight design allows placement in suspended ceiling grids or attached to wall surfaces with mechanical fasteners.
Finally, the Sustain Pyramid Diffusor in Bamboo is optimized to provide high quality sound diffusion while also doubling as an effective bass trap when filled with absorptive material. These lightweight, sturdy diffusors are sized so that they can be easily dropped into a suspended ceiling grid. They can also be installed on wall surfaces using mechanical fasteners. The bamboo material offers a more musical experience when tested against comparable products made from hardened fiberglass or plastic.
While diffusion is an important piece of acoustical treatment no project can be completed without a combination of absorption, bass traps and isolation products (like Auralex ISO-Series) in order to maximize the effectiveness of the treatment. The Sustain Series of diffusors from Auralex was designed to complement those solutions, while the brand’s construction products can be used for infrastructure sound isolation of a space.
