Visitors to CEDIA Expo 2015 will have the chance to be the first to see and hear the US debut of the Arcam AVR550 and AVR850 Dolby Atmos AVR’s as well as the new SR250 2-channel A/V receiver. Promoted by US distributors, The Sound Organisation, the new HDMI 2.0a and HDCP2.2 home systems from the British brand will also be presented at a special Open House event.

The Sound Organisation, US distributors for several well-respected European brands, announced that the latest line of Arcam state-of-the-art multi-channel audio/video receivers will be making its US debut during the 2015 CEDIA Expo. The new AVR550 and AVR850 are capable of playing back Dolby Atmos sources and have HDMI 2.0a including HDCP2.2 to allow the best video and audio presentation available. Further enhancing the performance of the new AVR550 and AVR850, Arcam has also included the very latest room correction technology from Dirac Research.

“Dolby’s innovative approach to delivering sound that better connects viewers with the richness, detail and clarity of the on screen experience is something we are excited to deliver to our customers”, says Charlie Brennan, Arcam’s CEO. “The ability to now deliver moving audio that fills the room with breathtaking detail and control – that only Dolby Atmos can accomplish - is a ground-breaking achievement in the home theatre environment. In addition, Dirac Live for Arcam will provide users with world class precision room correction giving amazingly transparent results.”

Arcam’s AVR550 and AVR850 AVRs support the latest digital sources with 7 x HDCP2.2 HDMI inputs and and have two HDMI outputs for main room use with a panel and projector. They also have a separate HDMI output for full digital video to a second fully independent zone. Control and Networking in a whole house system is provided through IR, RS232, IP and Arcam's iOS MusicLife App. Both models are Spotify Connect enabled. The AVR850 model features Arcam’s Class G amplification.

To compensate for any room issues that exist, Arcam has chosen Dirac Live as the class-leading room correction system for their new AVR receivers. “Dirac Live for Arcam will provide users with world class precision room correction with amazingly transparent results.”, says Charlie Brennan.

Dirac Live for Arcam compensates colorations to reproduced sound which are sometimes very difficult or impossible to remove with traditional hardware design and room treatments. The advanced patented software technology analyses the speakers as well as the room and corrects these colorations with the purpose of achieving a better sound. Dirac Research was founded in 2001 from Uppsala University, Sweden, where the founders have been conducting research in signal processing, automatic control, systems modeling and acoustics for many years.
